I woke up this morning to beautiful news- a friend in Dubai just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. I was so excited. I keep missing events in my friend’s lives n Dubai, but thanks to technology- it almost feels like I’m not too far away!
A few minutes later, I realized that Myles Munroe and his wife were victims of an air crash in the Bahamas. Dr.Myles Munroe a Christian Evangelist and the senior pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship, has in some way or the other affected all our lives in some way or the other- through his books, the word he preaches, the word our own pastors preach, etc.
It made me realize that life is too short- there is literally no guarantee on life- We come and we go as per His timing. We are the works of His hands, and it is only fair that we try to lead a life glorifying him. Knowing this- we are but human and fail, we sin time and again. How easy it is for us as individuals to always say- heck our sins are forgiven let’s sin again. I for one am guilty of this- BIG TIME.
How many times, each time I am faced with a difficult situation, I tend to give up or lament to Him- asking him Why oh Why- without realizing that it is in these times I must thank him- His plans are bigger and greater than ours.. And the last year of my life has proven this.
However we all do know that there is a time we will have to leave this world and go- that is when we will answer him… Why not just live this life like he wants us to? A life (not devoid of sin- that is impossible) where we do good, lend a helping hand, be nice to not just our neighbors but to the little man on the street freezing in the cold with not a penny in his pocket.
It’s not about being religious or praying- but all about being a good human being, that finally when we are before him- he will welcome us with open arms… and we leave this world knowing we made a difference in people’s lives, while glorifying out creator and spreading his message of love and peace across the nations.
The below verses are some of the most beautiful that I’ve ever come across and I just want to share it with you…
Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name
Blessed Be Your name
When I’m found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name
Every blessing You pour out
I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Blessed be Your name
When the sun’s shining down on me
When the world’s ‘all as it should be’
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there’s pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name
You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
